Authorities closed the main gate at Nellis Air Force Base in northeast Las Vegas Wednesday after a person arrived at the gate saying that there was a bomb in his car, reports KVVU-TV. Explosive ordinance personnel are reported to be investigating the situation.

An elementary school on the base in under lockdown as well, and some roads surrounding the base are closed as well.

Officials at Nellis say someone came to the gates at 11:50 this morning & and said they had a bomb in their car.

KTNV reports that the individual involved in the bomb threat was taken into custody by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
