Mitt Romney, the candidate who was just too out of touch to be president, proved to be prescient once again as news broke that the next five seasons of “Sesame Street” would premiere on HBO and eventually move to PBS. In other words, Big Bird didn’t need public funding to survive. Ah, the memories.
#debates unleashed some of worst Big Bird outfits known to man or muppet. can it be that hard to find a good one? pic.twitter.com/mNZ4WGZy

One of the things “Sesame Street” always claimed to do was teach children how to accept and deal with their feelings. Those children have grown up, and today many find themselves sad and disappointed; especially liberals, who are especially adept at being sad and disappointed.

@accretivegrowth @briangaar @mathewi "Poor kids can still see it later": doucheiest, whitest thing I saw here today.

@briangaar @RickRosa7 it's still on PBS. Unfortunately with all kinds of shit from Disney and Nick, Sesame Street on PBS can't compete.

.@SesameWorkshop Very disappointed in @SesameStreet move. Sends the wrong message: CTW cares only about kids whose families can afford @HBO

Really disappointed to hear @sesamestreet is moving to HBO before airing months later on PBS. This is not what Henson would want.?

I get that deal has lot of incentives which might translate to more kids' programming, but VERY disappointed Sesame Street sold out to HBO.

I'm HONESTLY PISSED SESAME STREET MOVED TO HBO FUCK
— m ? (@seoulhes) August 13, 2015
Sesame Street on HBO brings me down. Fine for the kids of Whole Foods-shopping, NPR-lovin middle class folks, sad for poor kids
— Mike (@mcgee_gorgo) August 14, 2015
@sesamestreet @PBS nice of you to give access to affluent kids first, and only 30 mins to poor children w/o parents who can afford HBO.

Sesame Street going to HBO is honestly heartbreaking, that show was a standby of my poor-ass childhood

@sesamestreet @HBO @PBS Saddening. Children in poor families, those that CAN'T afford HBO, need the extra educational boost the most. 🙁

Kids from families that can afford HBO get to watch new Sesame Street episodes! Poor kids get to learn the letters "FU".

Look on the bright side; Big Bird doesn’t have to beg for spare change anymore.
