Dr. Cornel West tells Ferguson that 'we are going to fill the jails tomorrow'

Having gotten a taste of the #BlackLivesMatter movement and its power to disrupt at a chaotic panel at Netroots Nation, presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was more than patient yesterday at a campaign stop in Seattle. After some fighting over ownership of the microphone, the Sanders campaign agreed to four-and-a-half minutes of silence in honor of Michael Brown, as Sanders stood quietly off to the side of his own stage.

This entire weekend in Ferguson, Mo., has been dedicated to events honoring Michael Brown, shot and killed by Officer Darren Wilson one year ago. A silent march this morning promises to turn not so silent tomorrow as organizers have called for Moral Monday, a day of civil disobedience and national call to action.

Introduced by Marc Lamont Hill, Dr. Cornel West gave the keynote speech Sunday night before Monday’s day of civil disobedience. Bree Newsome was a special guest.
