eBay has work to do policing its new 'no Confederate merchandise' policy; Clinton pins, anyone?

With yesterday’s announcement that the Confederate flag would come down from the State House grounds in South Carolina — in part because of “the fact that it causes pain to so many” — several major retailers like Walmart are choosing to remove all Confederate-related merchandise from their shelves.

Auction site eBay has no shelves to speak of, and yet it too has pledged to cleanse itself of all Confederate-related merchandise. Considering the huge amount and variety of things available on the site, eBay has a lot of work to do, and it might as well start here.

How are we even seeing this?

Is that really a Hillary Clinton for President campaign button? That would cause pain to so many even without the stars and bars, so how long will it take to get this artifact of hatred off the Internet? #TakeItDown

Great job there, eBay.

Meanwhile, while Walmart employees are busy pulling Chinese-made, Confederate-themed merchandise off the shelves, eBay is sitting by and letting the price of such goods skyrocket.

Is Hillary Clinton having her unpaid interns unload this crap out of her personal stash for the campaign slush fund?

Bidding farewell to the flag on the State House grounds, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley acknowledged that many “see it as a memorial, a way to honor ancestors who came to the service of their state during time of conflict. That is not hate, nor is it racism.” She added that the state would not stand in the way of those who wish to display the flag on their own property — if they can find one. Small business to the rescue!
