When we most recently checked in with Secretary of State John Kerry, he was telling reporters via a video hookup from his home that the United States was “not fixated on Iran specifically accounting for what they did at one point in time or another,” preferring to keep looking forward in its nuclear negotiations. No sense dwelling on the past, right?
Today, it was Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s turn to weigh in on the negotiations via Twitter, and as much as he’d like to broker a good deal for everyone involved, he’s afraid for the United States that means “a totalitarian agreement.”
That someone say Leader has permitted crossing some red lines in private meetings is totally wrong and a lie. #IranTalks

Whew! Reassuring. "@khamenei_ir: That some say Leader has permitted crossing some red lines in private meetings is totally wrong and a lie."

I recognize our negotiators as trustworthy, committed, brave and faithful. They are pursuing national interest& pride in #IranTalks. @JZarif

During previous govt. Americans sent a dignitary from region to ask for direct talks and said they intended to resolve issues with #Iran.1/2

US said it’d recognize #Iran as nuclear power&gradually lift sanctions in 6 months. We restated our distrust, but gave them another chance.2/2

If US had fulfilled promises made through regional intermediate, we were ready to step ahead. But soon after talks US ignored commitments.

Reviewing trend of US demands, anyone concludes US seeks dismantling of our nuclear industry & identity, leaving a caricature of it behind.

Dude, you're trying to make Obama & Kerry look tough and it isn't working. @khamenei_ir https://t.co/XlLSJfXUSd

The dismantling of Iran’s nuclear industry and identity? Sounds good to us.
Strategy of #Resistance& tolerance against pressures worked& Americans admitted #sanctions had no crippling impact, so they sought new ways.
— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) June 23, 2015
We are seeking a good deal, as Americans do. But by good deal we mean a fair deal while they mean a totalitarian agreement. #IranTalks
— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) June 23, 2015
Major red lines in #IranTalks include accepting some restrictions, but not for 10 or 15 yrs. R&D and constructions must continue.
— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) June 23, 2015
All economic, financial & banking sanctions, either by UNSC, US Congress or administration must be lifted on same day deal is signed. 1/2
— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) June 23, 2015
Other sanctions can be removed gradually by a reasonable timetable. 2/2
— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) June 23, 2015
US governments want us to stop everything for 12 years. but such demand is an excessive demand and extreme mistake. #IranTalks
— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) June 23, 2015
What is truly "extreme" and "excessive" is your regime's sponsorship of terrorism and duplicity on nuke research. https://t.co/sBcTwtQ9bz

Oh. So Iran is backing out? Or will the desperate-for-any-deal Obama admin give Iran what it wants? https://t.co/NVink7L6o1

Lifting #sanctions must match #Iran’s commitments.Stipulating for IAEA approval in any step not accepted; IAEA neither independent, nor fair

We do not accept unconventional, military inspections and interrogation of individuals.#IranTalks

We do not accept any Iranian nuclear weapons program. https://t.co/HQ8hFvrCoz

Preach.
It’s a lie if anyone says there is officials in #IRAN who are against a #NuclearDeal.
— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) June 23, 2015
You mean like the lie that there are homosexuals in Iran, @khamenei_ir?
— a Statement of Fact (@fringeaggressor) June 23, 2015
Sounds like meeting the deadline for an agreement should be no problem as long as the United States follows these simple instructions to the letter.
"There’s no reason our negotiators… shouldn’t be able to meet this June 30th deadline," WH @PressSec says. #IranTalks
