In attendance was the family of Tyrone West, who died in Baltimore police custody in 2013. West’s family cites witnesses who claim West was beaten to death by police; an independent panel, however, determined that West had a history of drug sales, violence, and resisting authority, and an autopsy showed that he died of a heart condition triggered by both the heat and a struggle with police.
