The White House today tweeted an overview of President Obama’s latest green jobs initiative — by the year 2020, he hopes to have trained 75,000 people to enter the solar energy industry. Many of those will be veterans, he announced today in front of an array of solar panels at Hill Air Force Base in Utah.
Hopefully these veterans will fare better in their new careers than the employees of Solyndra. To be fair, Solyndra did keep a group of artists off the street as they converted more than 1,000 glass tubes originally meant to be used in the manufacture of solar panels into a very, very pricey “art installation” at the University of California Botanical Garden at Berkeley.
This time, though, it’s all certain to work out as planned.
@WhiteHouse Mmm, smell that Solyndra…

@WhiteHouse and I'm sure it will be "free" (taxpayer expense)…

@whitehouse There you go another "Progressive" initiative with no marketability until solar is made profitable without gov. subsidies.

@WhiteHouse @MAHAMOSA How does one qualify?

@WhiteHouse @MAHAMOSA I think this is awesome! It is the future…I still want that for all future generations.

Government subsidized solar is more precisely the recent past; the future promises to be even brighter, at least for a flash.
@WhiteHouse Dude, when Iran starts nuking people the fallout will create nuclear winter and degrade solar. Think it through and drill baby.
