When Jezebel’s Natasha Vargas-Cooper made her first attempt to apologize for misreporting Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s nonexistent desire to stop colleges from reporting campus rapes, it went a little something like this:

https://twitter.com/natashavc/status/571698518055890945
Surprisingly, not even Jezebel itself, which had run Vargas-Cooper’s faulty story under a seriously deceptive headline, could let her “update” suffice, choosing instead to add a second update concluding, “We regret the error and apologize.”
Whatever inspired Vargas-Cooper to try again with her own apology we don’t know, but it’s definitely a step toward improvement.

@natashavc you still haven't actually said you were sorry. Here, I'll help: "I'm sorry to Scott Walker for failing at my job as a reporter."
— Beau (@INukeYou) February 28, 2015
@natashavc ok so let's hear you say your sorry…..we haven't heard it yet. I would formally apologize to Walker and your readers
— Cory (@Jake_Sam) February 28, 2015
We're waiting. MT @natashavc I know I said I wasn't going to say sorry but I hope you won't fault me for changing my mind.

You know what else wouldn’t hurt?
@natashavc Please change the headline of the article to reflect the actual facts.
250k people were misled.

@natashavc I'm just sorry the readers who read the original "story" do not know it was completely false. Facts really do matter.

@natashavc You're a hack and a paid clown.
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) February 28, 2015
@natashavc Okay, you've got your "I'm sorry" out there, its on to your next hit peace. Got that straw man to build.
— Daniel (@ddwalk34) February 28, 2015
.@natashavc Don't worry: you spread the falsehood, and that's your real job.
