'I feel empowered, I feel free': Immigrant from communist China argues against Colorado gun control laws

As Twitchy reported yesterday, Colorado’s state legislature convened yesterday to hear testimony and vote on Republican-sponsored legislation to roll back the gun control laws passed in 2013. As expected, each of the bills passed the narrowly Republican-led Senate only to be killed by the state House, which enjoys a slight Democrat majority.

Lawmakers heard more than eight hours of testimony from lobbyists as well as survivors and family members of the Columbine and Aurora mass shootings.

The last of the bills to fall, the so-called “Make My Day Better” act, would have granted business owners, managers and employees immunity from criminal prosecution for defending their place of business using deadly physical force.

Another closely watched bill would have repealed the state’s ban on magazines capable of holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition — legislation that cause Magpul to move its manufacturing facilities out of the state.
