The New York City Fire Department earlier this evening responded to a report of acid thrown in a passenger’s face on the “D” train to Brooklyn, but has not released any follow-ups to this tweet.

Update:
The New York Daily News reports that there was no acid attack; however, a man suffered severe chemical burns when an acidic cleaning fluid he was carrying leaked through his pocket. Police plan to interview the man to learn why he was carrying such a dangerous chemical on the train.
