A large group of #BlackLivesMatter protesters, some tagging their tweets with #ReclaimMLK, shut down traffic in the Delmar Loop spanning University City and St. Louis, Mo., Saturday among a large police presence. The chaos was documented extensively in photos and Vine videos, showing just how short tempers have become. (As always, these Vines come with a language warning.)

To see people so worked up about the flag being upside down is just crazy. That is privilege.
— deray (@deray) January 17, 2015
@deray The fact that these people can worry more about distress flags, than being shot down in cold blood, is privilege.

The drummer didn't get arrested. They just grabbed him and later released him.

.@hunterw @KatMcKinley do not lecture me or the movement. It is easy to give advice from your comfortable seat.

@hunterw @deray here we go, more white people trying to tell protesters how to protest the "right way." fuck outta here

.@KatMcKinley ..lady, you don't look old enough to know what mlk hated…my understanding was he didn't hate…he loved…stop antagonizing

@maryteatowel That is kind of my point. He loved. I'm a child of integration, the first wave, in Ms, in the 60's.

There are so many new faces out here today. It's great. And a lot of students. So great. The movement lives.

Those who allege black people are exaggerating police contempt for them have likely never seen it up close. It's VERY real.

Speaking of both police contempt and getting “so worked up” over an inanimate object like the American flag, enjoy this Vine video from a recent pro-police rally in Ferguson.
