On Dec. 30, actor extraordinaire and Twitchy favorite Nick Searcy responded to a Yahoo! Parenting article, “7 Things I Can Do That My Black Son Can’t,” with his own lengthy, must-read Facebook post on the lessons he teaches his own adopted son. The Yahoo! piece was disturbing, wrote Searcy, because it’s “not really about this man’s son. It is about this man’s politics. It is a defense of every leftist lie from #WhitePrivilege to #HandsUpDontShoot to #IcantBreathe, all of which are simply poison.”
Just two days later, Oprah Winfrey found herself in hot water with the #BlackLivesMatter movement, telling People magazine that she was waiting for some leadership to evolve from the movement and present a specific list of changes that need to be made along with the steps to realize those changes.
Searcy reached out to better understand the “white privilege” crowd. Here’s just a selection of tweets from a Twitter conversation that attracted a large number of voices.
Once again a Black 'celebrity' shows just how out of touch they are. So, while @oprah searches for an outdated leadership model, #weworkin.

But back to Searcy’s piece about his son.
https://twitter.com/yesnicksearcy/status/551479738431049728
.@yesnicksearcy In his life, he will undoubtably be seen as not deserving or unworthy, and less than human. Simply bc he's Black/Brown.

Parents have a real responsibility to prepare their children for the world, GOOD & BAD, @yesnicksearcy. By ignoring racism, you're failing.

It's so scary to hear @yesnicksearcy say he has a Black son. Like, terrifying.

@yesnicksearcy ok. However, she answered your questions. Maybe the answers @brownblaze have you were not the answers you were seeking.

@yesnicksearcy I'm most uncomfortable w the way you present him as your black son/son who is black. its weird. Objectifying. Whatever.

@yesnicksearcy just a heads up that @brownblaze & basically every black woman on here get 1000s of trolls demanding proof of modern racism.

@yesnicksearcy I know that's frustrating, but seriously it's not the same. And some of the stuff you were saying was revelatory. Been there.
