At first it was only theater chains that had voluntarily chosen not to screen “The Interview” in the face of threats by hackers, but eventually Sony Pictures itself decided to pull the movie from theatrical release. Many have suggested that Sony simply post the movie online for free to give it as large an audience as possible.
Prolific Brazilian novelist Paulo Coelho, perhaps best known in America for his novel “The Alchemist,” on Wednesday had approached Sony via Twitter with his own business proposition.
I offer @SonyPictures 100k for the rights of "The Interview" I will post it free on my blog. Pls get in touch with me via @SonyPicturesBr
