Delta Air Lines, via its @DeltaNewsroom Twitter feed, expressed its support for “much needed” immigration reform on Friday, the day after President Obama delivered his executive amnesty speech.

In case there was any doubt that Delta, when citing immigration reform, was proposing an eventual legislative solution passed by Congress, a brief statement on the Delta website made it clear that it was President Obama and his pen that had the company’s support:
“Delta Air Lines applauds the steps announced this week to enact much-needed reforms to the nation’s immigration system,” said Joanne Smith, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “The President’s actions will provide economic development opportunities and enhance public safety by streamlining legal immigration while cracking down on illegal immigration at the border and focusing on deporting felons rather than families.”
Deporting felons rather than families? Has that been a longstanding moral concern for Delta Air Lines? Or is there something else at work that has won the support of Delta’s human resources officer?
@DeltaNewsroom @Delta @WhiteHouse Well of course you do. Got to drive down the wages of those baggage handlers #ImmigrationAction #Fairtax
