'Grubered again!' If you like your plan, you can pay more for your plan in 2015

Health and Human Services has released a computer file of 2015 Obamacare insurance premiums just before the 2015 open enrollment period goes live, and a quick study of the numbers shows that no American will be surprised to learn that most insurance premiums will be rising next year. There is a workaround, though; citizens can downgrade their coverage into a cheaper plan and pay less (for less coverage).

It was Obamacare architect Ezekiel Emanuel who clarified last December that if you like your doctor, you can indeed keep your doctor, as long as you’re willing to pay a lot more for the privilege. And now the AP reports that if you like your plan, you can keep that too — if you’re willing and able to cover the boost in premiums.

“Just because you enrolled in a low-cost plan this year is no guarantee that your plan will also be low-cost next year,” Larry Levitt of the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation told the Associated Press. The option for as many as 7 million people insured under Obamacare? Switch to another plan.

Some gave a special shout-out to the Associated Press for helping make this mess possible.
