Taking a cue from the actually useful #ALSIceBucketChallenge, Code Pink is in front of the White House Thursday night taking the #RubbleBucketChallenge. The group’s Facebook page explains:
The youth of Gaza have responded to the wildly popular ALS #IceBucketChallenge with their own: the #RubbleBucketChallenge. Water is scarce in Gaza these days, but they have plenty of rubble. So they have asked us to show our solidarity with them (as many of us have for those with ALS) by dumping a bucket, or bowl or cup of dirt/sand over our heads, tape it and post it to their FB page. Yeah, we know. Dirt is DIRTY. But the people in Gaza can’t take a shower for days, and are picking through rubble to find their possessions. So don’t whine!
