Washington Redskins President Bruce Allen won’t be seeing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at a game any time soon, despite a personal invitation to the senator.
“I will not stand idly by while a professional sports team promotes a racial slur as a team name and disparages the American people,” wrote Reid in response. “Nor will I consider your invitation to attend a home game until your organization chooses to do the right thing and change its offensive name.”
Reid stressed that the issue was a personal one for him, as he represents 27 tribes as senator.

@SenatorReid That's perfect as no one actually wants you there anyway. You can watch it on TV at your home, the Ritz Carlton.

@SenatorReid @RalstonReports Good! Your whining presence would only detract from the game. Go #Redskins !
