Katie Pavlich calls out Mediaite over 'bogus, completely out of context headline'

Mark Cuban’s admission that, “If I see a black kid in a hoodie and it’s late at night, I’m walking to the other side of the street,” was a topic of conversation on Fox News’ “The Five” Thursday. Co-host Katie Pavlich echoed Cuban’s words, saying, “If I see a black kid in a hoodie walking down the street late at night and I’m walking down the street, I cross the street because I feel unsafe.”

Same thing with the tattoos on the guy on the face with the bald head,” she continued. “I’m protecting myself in the name of safety to get away from that person. It’s not about being a bigot or being prejudiced. It’s about simply putting my safety first.”

Mediaite singled out Pavlich’s response, under the headline, “The Five Host: I’m Not ‘Bigoted’ but I Cross the Street When I See a Black Kid.” Mediate noted Pavlich’s response as the “strangest” (despite Bob Beckel’s self-described fear of “old ladies” and Eric Bolling’s admission that, “If I saw six clowns, I would cross the street”).

Pavlich, though, wondered why Mediaite left out a quote by Jesse Jackson, Jr., read during the segment by Greg Gutfeld. “There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life,” Jackson has said, “than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”
