In observance of Equal Pay Day, Michael Moore has declared that all men coming to his Traverse City theaters will pay an extra 25 percent per ticket.
Seems like the perfect solution, at least from Moore’s point of view: women (who allegedly earn less for equal work) pay what they would have paid anyway, and the men’s surcharge goes not to the women but to the capitalist theater owner.
@MMFlint what an excellent excellent idea!!!

Any objections?
@MMFlint Not surprising you'd charge more instead of giving a discount.

@MMFlint This point may be lost, as men are typically expected to buy tickets for both themselves and their partner.

@MMFlint That's great. Do they have to buy their wife's ticket, too?

@MMFlint do you know the meaning of "equal"?
— Vesta Couch (@AuntVesta) April 8, 2014
@MMFlint Great idea Mike. Because inequality is the new equality.

@MMFlint Why wouldn't you decrease a woman's ticket 25%? We're not out of a recession so the men as well as woman are even worse off.

@MMFlint I'm disappointed in you. The wage gap is a myth due to choices people make in job selection and number of hours of work.

@MMFlint Charging men more for anything to balance perceived unfairness is just as bad as ladies nights or affirmative action. Equality.
— Ryan (@tarheeledfish) April 8, 2014
Not such an excellent, excellent idea after all?
@MMFlint that is a bit rubbish, even by your standards Moore.
