Good news from New York State: the Maple Tap Act made it through the Senate today as part of the nearly $100 billion-a-year farm bill. Senator Chuck Schumer notes that the legislation reminds us that New York maple syrup is “more mapley.”
Vermont Sen. Pat Leahy disagrees.
RT Not quite…#VT maple remains the Gold Standard @SenSchumer: Maple Tap Act passes in Farm Bill, reminding us that NY syrup is more mapley

There’s one thing on which we can all certainly agree: the farm bill has the unmistakeable scent of pork.

Anyone voting for the ‘Farm Bill’ ought to lose their jobs. You simply can’t be pro-free market & vote for that giant hunk of welfare pork.

Also passed as part of the farm bill was the Small Brew Act.
Congrats @BlueMonkBflo -named NY’s #1 beer restaurant. Small Brew Act could help them put even more #NYbrew on tap. http://t.co/SFtCqwJ8qC
