Director Michael Bay needed some direction Monday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. He was there to promote Samsung’s line of curved TVs, but it appears the teleprompter decided to throw Bay a curve. After a brief attempt at ad libbing, Bay simply apologized and walked off.
Michael Bay onstage at Samsung event. Teleprompter problems. "The type is all off."

Michael Bay just walked offstage rather than work without a Teleprompter.

Michael Bay onstage at Samsung, having trouble with teleprompter. "I try to take people on an emotional ride." Melting down. #CES2014

OMG Michael Bay just freaked out on stage. His cue cards were messed up. No joke. #CES2014 pic.twitter.com/9xCOn7HOa3

Not just saying this as a fan of the man's work, but to say Michael Bay "FLIPS OUT" at CES is kind of overstating it. Still hilarious tho.

That was awkward.

“Michael Bay” quickly became one of Twitter’s trending topics.
That Michael Bay thing made my cheeks burn with embarrassment & normally I enjoy awkward but that was… just sad.

Michael Bay finally showed the world his directorial secret at CES. #illjustwingthis

Watched the Michael Bay meltdown at #CES2014, haven't cringed like that since Transformers2. Do you really need to script your casual convo?

There was more emotional impact in that Michael Bay presentation than in most of his movies.

Michael Bay was all, like, "Armagettin' outta here."

In fairness, I've often wanted to walk out of a Michael Bay embarassment too. Can't blame him for seizing the opportunity.
— Richard Cobbett (@richardcobbett) January 6, 2014
But did Michael Bay really get flustered or did he see teleprompter fail as opportunity to bail on a soul-killing shilling experience?
