'Not bad for a non-athlete': Jimmie Johnson reacts to AP honor

Earlier this year, retired NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb rattled NASCAR fans by declaring that drivers aren’t real athletes. “He’s not an athlete,” McNabb said of Jimmie Johnson on Fox Sports Live, continuing, “He sits in a car and he drives, that doesn’t make you athletic.”

Obviously not everyone agrees with McNabb — Johnson was just named third on the Associated Press’ 2013 Male Athlete of the Year list, following the Miami Heat’s LeBron James in first and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning in second.
