Whoever would have suspected that Jesse Jackson would insert himself into the “Duck Dynasty” controversy? Pretty much everyone, really. In a statement, Jackson said that Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ were “more offensive than the bus driver in Montgomery, Alabama, more than 59 years ago” who demanded that Rosa Parks move to the back of the bus.
“At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law,” Jackson said in his statement. “Robertson’s statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was ‘white privilege.'” Freely and openly? Outrageous!
Jackson, his Rainbow PUSH Coalition and GLAAD have demanded a meeting with A&E executives and Cracker Barrel’s CEO in order to discuss “the future of all ‘Duck Dynasty’ memorabilia or content.” Cracker Barrel had pulled some Duck Dynasty merchandise from its shelves before reversing itself after a social media outcry.
Will Jackson’s meeting happen? Should it?

@CrackerBarrel Tell Jesse Jackson to worry about raising law abiding children not criminals. He and his son are a disgrace.
