The sleepy and peaceful hamlet of Chicago got a little rowdy tonight following the Blackhawks’ 3–2 win over the Boston Bruins to claim the Stanley Cup. Were those fireworks going off? It must have been; Chicago has very strict gun control laws in place, we hear.

Listening to the Chicago Police and Fire scanner, I've counted 15 gun shots and a burglary in progress within the last 30 seconds.

Honking horns & lots of celebratory yelling on the streets of Chicago. Not sure if the other noise is fireworks or gun shots. Both? #hockey

Hundreds of "celebration" shots fired across #Chicago after #BlackHawks win #Cup. Police cope with crowds filling… http://t.co/yuAQXC0F16

Multiple shots being fired in the city wide in Chicago…in other words, everything seems relatively calm, so far no unusual incidents.
