This is awkward. Noted right-wing nut-job conspiracy site Yahoo! News briefly joined the “birther” camp today, making note that President Obama wouldn’t be swinging by his “country of birth” when he and the first family visit Africa later this month.
Putting the ! in Yahoo! – Obama in Africa "won't be stopping in the country of his birth." http://t.co/6VombQeDcu

Yahoo! White House reporter Rachel Rose Hartman hasn’t tweeted about the story or the correction, but she sure doesn’t seem like a birther. After all, her Twitter bio features a photo of the president and his daughters.
So @rachelrhartman is a "White House Reporter" for @Yahoo, but doesn't know where @BarackObama was born? #Fail http://t.co/6LmBN1zhT1

Maybe someone else slipped in that detail, or maybe Yahoo! employs the same fact-checker who used to work at Barack Obama’s former literary agency. Whatever the reason, the article now refers to the president’s “ancestral homeland.”
Yahoo changed the president "won't be stopping in the country of his birth" to "his ancestral homeland." Good work, everyone. I guess.

Even when Yahoo! makes the gaffe, some can’t help but blame Fox News.
Way to go Yahoo's Rachel Ross Hartman, another Fox-lite type spreading bogus memes http://t.co/y0cL0r6mfL #WeAllAreAfricans #noraces
