Snoop Lion's 'No Guns Allowed' has a good beat and you can grave dance to it

It’s now harder than ever to tell Snoop Dogg and Piers Morgan apart. The two bonded recently over their shared love of Bob Marley and gun control, and now the rapper, under his “Snoop Lion” alias, is serving up some smooth reggae beats for his and Musket Morgan’s grave dancing pleasure. Snoop launched his career as a gun-packing member of the West Coast gangster rap  scene but is doing his best to leave that image behind.

Is it enough for Snoop’s new “No Guns Allowed” video to kick off with a clip of President Obama and news footage of the Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo., mass shootings? Apparently not, as those images are mixed with artsy black and white footage of kids quite literally playing with guns. We’re going to guess that none of the NRA’s 93,000 instructors was behind the decision to hand children a gun to use as a prop.

Plenty were incredulous when Snoop announced his “reincarnation” and associated name change, and the conversion from gangster to Rastafari gun control advocate isn’t any easier to swallow.

OK, this Snoop Lion superfan is sold on the act.

Hold up: Ice Cube, another early luminary of the West Coast gangster rap scene, wants on board that bandwagon.
