Hillary Clinton love-in continues during House testimony; 'I wish you'd won the primary'

As Twitchy reported, some senators questioning Secretary of State Hillary Clinton this morning, Sen. Barbara Boxer in particular, seemed less interested in what happened on Sept. 11, 2012 than in what might happen in November 2016. The love-fest continued this afternoon in the House, with the hearing on Benghazi turning into another campaign launch event.

“You will be sorely missed, but I, for one, hope not for too long,” Boxer said this morning, and freshman Rep. Ami Bera (D-Calif.) was anxious to second that emotion.

Gross. How much longer will the fawning go on? If you believe ABC News’ headline, Clinton “endured brusque questioning” and was “slammed” by House Republicans this afternoon. Capitol Hill’s love affair with Clinton, though, was bipartisan, with another freshman, Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), dissing the sitting president in the form of a (backhanded) compliment.

It’s hard to say, as the remark was met with crickets. Some watching the proceedings were not amused, either.

And with that, Hillary’s long-awaited testimony is complete.
