Egyptians appear set to approve the country’s new constitution by a wide margin today via a nationwide referendum. The Muslim Brotherhood, which has backed President Mohamed Morsi and the proposed constitution, is reporting on the vote via its Twitter feed.
UPDATE: results from 3329/6376 Polling Stations counted nationwide:
YES 60.6%
NO 39.4%— Ikhwanweb (@Ikhwanweb) December 15, 2012
Those numbers seem to match those reported by Egyptian media. Much of the no vote seems to be coming from Egypt’s second-largest city, Alexandria, where violent clashes are reported to have left at least 19 injured.
Shout out to Alexandrians for being the most awesome people in Egypt with a majority of the "no" vote.

As CBS reports, “The draft would empower Islamists to carry out the most widespread and strictest implementation of Islamic law that modern Egypt has seen.” We can’t confirm the text on this sign, but it’s being retweeted quite a bit.

@nadaskandar Did you personally see this and take this picture? Is it a tactic to get people to say no or is it for real?
