Spike Lee pledges to help Sandy relief effort after film shoot wraps

Admit it — your first thought after seeing pictures of the devastation left by Superstorm Sandy was, “Where’s Spike Lee?” No? Well, Lee did have quite a bit to say when Hurricane Katrina struck, and he directed the Katrina documentary “When the Levees Broke” for HBO. So yes, some are wondering where Lee is when his childhood home of Brooklyn is cleaning up after Sandy.

It turns out Lee is in New Orleans, shooting a remake of the Korean film “Oldboy.” He promises to return to Brooklyn to help with recovery efforts once that film wraps.
