In the most high-concept use of line breaks since Target started sending out books of “haiku-pons,” the Democratic Party today released some “absurdist poetry” by Mitt Romney. Is he a poet, or just — cue dramatic prairie dog — a candidate with something to hide?
Two things strike us. First, when handily transcribed like this, Romney’s explanation certainly does read like plain English. Second, considering the source, it look less like a poem than a teleprompter script.
We don’t know if absurdist poetry is going to connect with the voters, but it did elicit a couple of responses.

Troll hard. RT @TheDemocrats: Is Mitt Romney a candidate with something to hide—or an absurdist poet? You decide. pic.twitter.com/Yw5Fneqv
