Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Kyle Kashuv finds himself on opposite sides of his classmates on the gun control debate. Even after witnessing what happened at his school, the student isn’t advocating for gun control laws like his counterparts are.
Kashuv went on The Story with Martha MacCallum to talk about what he thinks needs to take place to ensure kids are safe at school.

People quickly applauded his decision to stand up against such a controversial issue, especially when a handful of his classmates have become the poster children for gun control.
I’m SO glad this kid is finally getting some air time!!! Thank you.

Thank you Kyle. You are correct. Our first concern should be to secure the schools.

This young person represents the future of the United States of America: he and all the other brave young men and woman are refusing to stand down in the face of the political corruption that perpetuates violence against our children.

Kyle, thank you for your courage and standing up to speak your mind. I agree with you I that we need to focus on hardening schools first. If we concentrate on gun control alone, we will never solve school shootings. We stopped air-hijackings without gun control.
