Oh, those fickle, fickle polls — at least if you’re President Obama. When the road to re-election appears to be as smooth as the man himself, polls are beautiful. They give overconfident spokespeople lots to gush about.
But when they turn, oh, how it burns. And oh, how the campaign suddenly doesn’t view polls as important.
Tweeters have it figured out, naturally:
@AC360 @YellinCNN Now Anderson Sounds like Obama is running scared. And he is MITT ROMNEY way out ahead.

@AC360 @yellincnn Of course they don't, not really a pleasant picture.

@NolteNC or he knows dead people don't answer the phone for poll questions

Someone else thinks this signals nefarious attempts by the Dems on Nov. 6:

Twitchy thinks there’s another, far more entertaining, conspiracy to be found, as expressed here:
Looking at the polls, maybe Mitt was onto something when he talked about the 47%, since that now seems to be Obama's number.

The poll Obama and his campaign staff fear most is 12 days away. That’s plenty of time for them to update the ol’ resume, but here’s a helpful tip: Don’t ask the American people to serve as references.
