Say this for Tom Morello: He puts his time and heart into the causes he supports.
The guitarist for Rage Against the Machine (ooh, our fists clinch with righteous indignation just saying the name) and Audioslave also has a solo act, for which he goes by the moniker The Nightwatchman.
On Saturday, The Nightwatchman will be looking out for the little people, the meek 99 percenters, as he performs in protest of Walmart’s plans to build a store in the Chinatown area of Los Angeles.
The L.A. County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, just happens to be behind what it calls “the largest Walmart protest in the history of the U.S.” Well, then. At least one person will be there:
@tmorello @lalabor @laanehelp I will be there! Good cause! 🙂

Maybe Regina is lucky enough to be taking the day off from her job to attend the protest, unlike the 11.4 percent of L.A. residents who have NO job. (And that’s considered good economic news.)

Wow, someone gets it!
Morello’s other big cause at the moment is the Robin Hood Tax.

Visit the site for his nonprofit organization, Axis of Justice, and you’ll get an explanation of the merry tax: “Simply put, the big idea behind the Robin Hood Tax is to generate hundreds of billions of dollars. That money could provide funding for jobs to kickstart the economy and get America back on its feet.”
Let’s go over that last sentence again (emphasis added): “That money could provide funding for jobs to kickstart the economy and get America back on its feet.”
Huh. Kinda like the jobs that Walmart wants to provide for people in L.A. County? Glad you’ve got everyone’s back, Nightwatchman, but some of your fans have other opinions:
Tom Morello, stick to playing the guitar please.
