Rebekah Jones will serve probation after 'no contest' plea to cyberstalking

Twitchy readers are probably most familiar with Rebekah Jones as the data scientist who claimed that she was fired by the Florida Department of Health for refusing to manipulate COVID-19 statistics (a claim that turned out to not be true).

It would seem she’s got a bit more going on than that:

From the linked article:

LEON COUNTY, Fla. — Former Democratic congressional candidate Rebekah Jones will serve a year of probation after pleading no contest to a cyberstalking charge on Wednesday, stemming from a 2019 criminal investigation where a man allegedly accused Jones of posting naked pictures of him online.

Jones, who was defeated by current Northwest Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz in the 2022 election, was arrested and charged with cyberstalking back in 2019 for allegedly posting “revenge porn” of a man she believed to be the father of her child, according to an warrant affidavit.

According to a warrant affidavit, Jones posted nude pictures of the victim on his employer’s Instagram, in addition to sharing them with his family and friends.

Jones began posting the pictures online after a temporary injunction filed by the victim expired back in 2019, according to a warrant affidavit.

Jones also allegedly posted a 68-page narrative online about her private relationship with the victim.

Jones’ no contest plea is not a guilty conviction, but she will now have to serve a year of probation for the cyberstalking charge stemming from the case.

Looks like this probation will run in concurrence with one that she’s already serving:

Jones’ probation sentencing will run concurrently to another probation she is serving for cybersecurity charges related to her allegedly modifying the Florida Department of Health’s computer system.

There sure is.

Harsh, but fair.
