As Twitchy told you earlier, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Anthony Bass threw a Twitter hissy-fit over his wife being asked to take personal responsibility for the mess one of their young daughters made on a flight:
The flight attendant @united just made my 22 week pregnant wife traveling with a 5 year old and 2 year old get on her hands and knees to pick up the popcorn mess by my youngest daughter. Are you kidding me?!?! pic.twitter.com/vLYyLyJC54

Not content with the well-deserved dragging over his astonishingly tone-deaf tweet, Bass decided to double-down:
Thank you everyone for the support. United Airlines is taking care of matters with the flight attendant internally.

Support? We don’t think that word means what he thinks it means.
Wow, you’re going to get someone fired because your wife had to pick up after her own kids?

Really?!? You are going to get this flight attendant reprimanded or worse because YOUR kids made a mess and they asked YOUR wife to clean it up? That’s low class

You're putting this person's livelihood at risk because she insisted you actually be responsible for your own children and the messes they make? You're an awful person.

Oh you mean the way it should’ve been handled before you thought you’d be cool in posting publicly & then got reamed out by Twitter for coming across as an elitist d-bag?

That’s actually how it should have been handled. If Bass had a problem with the attendant’s request, maybe take it up privately with United’s customer service instead of putting them (and by extension, the attendant) on social media blast?
You need a friend who can tell you when to stop digging. pic.twitter.com/x7WhCNqioT

He does.
This isn’t a bad suggestion, either:
Sounds like you need a nanny.
And maybe one for your kid, too.

Editor’s note: We removed two tweets from this article once we discovered the account was a parody. Thank you for the head’s up! – sj
