The Left loves to play the 'phobia' card.
Disagree with men in women's locker rooms? You're a 'transphobe.'
Object to radical Islam and its incompatibility with Western civilization? Congrats, you've got a case of 'Islamophobia.'
These labels are utterly meaningless, of course. No one has an irrational fear of transgender people, and no one has an irrational fear of Islam.
Because that's what a phobia is -- an irrational fear that 'leads to distress or avoidance behavior.' This is why agoraphobics avoid crowds or going outside.

And if those labels are meaningless, the arguments they're meant to support are equally as hollow and vapid. To the Left, calling someone a 'phobe' is meant as a slur that they hope will shame us into not speaking out about whatever preferred group the Left is defending.
It's also a way for the Left to use the communist's preferred tactic of calling their political opponents mentally ill.
So when this came across my feed, it warranted a response.

Like Islam and trans folks, no one is afraid of diversity.
Rather, many of us -- myself included -- object to the systemic racism the Left likes to label as 'diversity' (they also call it 'equity' and 'inclusion.')
What they mean by good old DEI is, of course, that White people, Christians, and men are inherently bad and it's okay to discriminate against them using the full weight of a corporation or the government.
For far too long, the Left has used DEI and its various incarnations as an ideological cudgel with which they attempted to silence their political opponents and to punish otherwise apolitical normies for thought crimes.
In 2022, UVA student and BLM Zyahna Bryant accused fellow student Morgan Bettinger of saying Bryant and her fellow activists would 'make good speed bumps.' After a year of multiple investigations that saw Bettinger's reputation ruined and her academic record marred by an expulsion in abeyance, Reason Magazine reported there was no evidence to back up Bryant's claims:
In the year that followed, Bettinger was the subject of multiple investigations. One of them, from the UJC, would find her guilty of “threatening the health or safety” of students. As punishment, she would be expelled in abeyance—meaning that she was allowed to continue her schooling, but that a second violation of the same standard of conduct would likely result in actual expulsion. She also faced a litany of other sanctions.
While Bettinger eventually graduated from the university, she did so with a permanent mark on her record and a destroyed reputation.
But despite two separate investigations, there’s no evidence beyond Bryant’s allegations that Bettinger said protestors would make 'good f**king speed bumps' or that she threatened the protesters at all.
In 2020, Emmanuel Cafferty, then an employee of San Diego Gas and Electric was followed by a man who took a picture of Cafferty hanging his arm out of his work truck.
The man posted a pic of Cafferty on X with the claim the SDG&E employee was making the 'white power' gesture. Cafferty was fired from his job.
As we wrote at the time:
It all started about two weeks ago near a Black Lives Matter rally in Poway when Emmanuel Cafferty, a San Diego Gas and Electric employee, encountered a stranger on the roadway.
The stranger followed Cafferty and took a picture of him as his arm hung out the window of his company truck.
The picture made the rounds on Twitter accompanied by a claim Cafferty was making a “white power” hand gesture made popular by white supremacists groups.

NBC 7 spoke to the man who originally posted the picture on Twitter. He has since deleted his account and said he may have gotten “spun up” about the interaction and misinterpreted it. He says he never intended for Cafferty to lose his job.
It's nice the guy admitted he got 'spun up' about the interaction. But it's also clear that, like Bryant, taking the claims to social media had one purpose: to get Cafferty fired. It worked.
More recently, Democrats in Colorado have decided that parents don't have rights, and that the state can take custody of Colorado children if their parents fail to 'affirm' their 'gender identity.' They've made 'deadnaming' and 'misgendering' criminal child abuse offenses.
Last year, the Biden-Harris administration attempted a rewrite of Title IX of the Civil Rights Act, and included provisions that would punish women and girls who criticized men overtaking their locker rooms and sports competitions.
Leftists are burning Tesla dealerships, doxxing Tesla owners, and vandalizing their cars. The Democratic governor, Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania was targeted by a Left-wing Palestinian sympathizer who torched Shapiro's mansion hours after America's most prominent Jewish governor held a Passover seder.
Meanwhile, CNN tells us they can find no examples of Left-wing violence.
And we get to watch in real-time as Democrats go to the mattresses to bring 'home' MS-13 gang members and other illegal immigrant criminals. In the name of 'diversity', of course. They use the courts and plain old hubris to undermine the will of voters -- voters who elected Donald Trump and overwhelmingly support the mass deportation of illegal immigrants -- because they just don't like it.
In other words, the Left are happy to force their ideology on the rest of us, calling it some Orwellian version of 'tolerance', while making sure any dissent is crushed in its crib.
But tell me more about dictatorships.
