If you're one of the twelve people in America who still take mainstream media seriously, you're likely to think we're a hair's breadth away from a full-blown Constitutional crisis. Just ask CNN, MSNBC, and C-SPAN.
Like the good little foot soldiers they are, so-called 'journalists' have their marching orders, and they're going to follow them to the letter. Yet -- as always -- they seem to think the American voter has the memory of a goldfish. Admittedly, some do, but the majority of us have functioning brains. And we've not forgotten how they really feel about the Constitution.
So let me refresh the media's memory.
We'll start with The New Yorker, and the piece they wrote in September 2024.
Around the same time, both Hillary Clinton and John Kerry gave interviews in which they attacked the Constitutional right to free speech because, you know, democracy.

Or something.
Kamala Harris not only favored censoring social media in the name of combating 'misinformation', she opposed religious exemptions to abortion care and believed membership in the Catholic fraternal organization 'Knights of Columbus' disqualified one from holding public office. Her running mate, Tim Walz, pushed for a 'hate speech registry' that defined supporting author J.K. Rowling as 'hate speech.'
And that's just the First Amendment.
Kamala Harris -- like most Democrats -- supports gun bans and confiscation and even violating the Fourth Amendment Rights of gun owners.
The New York Times ran a letter from several readers asking if the Constitution was 'obstructing' American democracy in 2022.
It is not, but that's a topic for another column.
That same year, activist and author Elie Mystal went on 'The View' and called the Constitution 'trash.'
WATCH:
And in 2018, The Week called the Constitution terrible and demanded an entirely new one:
The American Constitution is an outdated, malfunctioning piece of junk — and it's only getting worse.
When written, the Constitution made a morally hideous compromise with slavery that took a war and 750,000 lives to make right. And while its basic structure sort of worked for awhile in the 20th century, the Constitution is now falling prey to the same defects that has toppled every other similar governing document the world over.
The truth seems clear: America is going to have to overhaul its basic structure of government, or eventually it will fall to pieces.
So which is it: an 'outdated, malfunctioning, piece of junk' or a sacrosanct document being threatened by Donald Trump?
It depends on who is pulling the levers of power, of course.
Donald Trump is now president, so the Constitution must temporarily be defended from his fascistic tendencies, of course.
ORANGE MAN BAD and all that.
But when the Constitution is a hindrance to the Left, it's a piece of trash that needs to be revamped or removed altogether. That's why every one of the outlets mentioned above was largely silent when Kamala Harris called for censorship of social media and curtailing of Second Amendment rights, and it's why few of them uttered a peep a month ago when Joe Biden's intern declared the 28th Amendment the 'law of the land' via a post on X, ignoring the Constitution in the process.
So spare me the faux outrage about Trump's actions, and don't pretend you care about the Constitution now, after trashing it for years.
It makes you look even more foolish.
