The Left Will Change When You Force Them to Live Under Their Own Rules

gif

In 2022, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre likened Republican governors Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott to 'human smugglers' because the two state leaders called the bluff of sanctuary cities and sent illegal immigrants to places like New York, Chicago, D.C., and Martha's Vineyard.

Gavin Newsom wanted Ron DeSantis to face kidnapping charges over the bussing.

What the Left really objected to was not the bussing, but that Democrats were being made to live with the consequences of their actions.

We all saw how that played out in Martha's Vineyard. The oh-so-tolerant, insanely wealthy Leftists in the posh oceanside community put up with the illegals for a whopping 44 hours, per CNN, before shipping them off elsewhere.

David Axelrod got his Bible out and chided Republicans that sending illegal immigrants to blue cities -- where the politicians said those illegals are always welcome -- isn't something Jesus would do.

Well, now that I think about it, he might have a point: it's cruel to send people to poorly run, crime-ridden blue cities. But I digress.

The point is this: it was a brilliant political move, and we all know that because the usual suspects had their knickers in a twist.

And now it's being said:

The backlash against illegal immigrants in blue cities is palpable. Massive protests took place in Chicago last year (and I told you the other day Chicago spends hundreds of millions on illegal immigrants) and protesters were arrested trying to block busses of illegal immigrants in New York City.

Speaking of New York City, a recent poll showed more than half of New Yorkers support deporting illegal immigrants.

As far back as 2022, uber-Leftist Matt Yglesias saw the bussing of illegals to Washington D.C. and cried for legislation to address this issue. Even New York Mayor Eric Adams has changed his tune, saying New York won't tolerate illegal immigrants in the Big Apple (how sincere he is remains to be seen).

The Left's motto has been 'rules for thee, but not for me' for quite some time. As I am partial to saying, whether on illegal immigration or some other political hypocrisy, it's (D)ifferent when the Left does it.

They truly think they're above the law, and above the rules they force on the rest of us.

That needs end.

It will take political will and a spine to do so. The media tried -- and failed -- to paint Ron DeSantis as a criminal human trafficker for holding the Left to account for their moral preening on sanctuary cities.

They will try to paint Donald Trump, Tom Homan, and the entire administration as monsters for daring to enforce our federal immigration laws.

Let them.

And call their bluff. If they oppose deportation, send bus loads of illegal immigrants to those cities. Arrest the mayors. Cut off federal funding.

Show them that they will live by their own rules, or they'll comply with ours.
