Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was murdered in cold blood yesterday morning in New York City. Thompson, 50, left behind a wife and two sons. The words 'deny', 'defend', and 'depose' were inscribed on shell casings left at the scene and the suspect remains at large (although police have released an image of the suspected shooter).
Lefties, in their usual style, took to social media to cheer the death. Including Taylor Lorenz who -- when not complaining about the dangers of 'raw dogging' the air -- decided it was okay to wish death on health insurance company CEOs, because health insurance companies might deny claims.
They're the bad guys, after all, so it's okay if we shoot them on the streets of NYC. The bastards had it coming.
Because reasons.
This has strong echoes of something I wrote about back in August, namely the Left's belief it's okay to steal if you feel the system is rigged against you. Except now, they've taken it up a notch to full-blown homicide.

The shooting also gave the Left (who never let an opportunity go to waste) the attention they needed to push -- once again -- for universal health care.
That system, where some faceless bean-counting bureaucrat decides you shouldn't have that surgery, is morally superior to some bean-counting bureaucrat at a private company deciding you shouldn't have that surgery.
Most of the people glorying in the murder of an insurance exec yearn for a government-run system where a private company can’t deny claims, and instead the state just fast tracks you into a humane death pod to more equitably distribute care. https://t.co/anFhvZqo73 pic.twitter.com/gVCeHQsOzL

I have written a lot about assisted suicide in places like Canada, where the idea started as 'we're giving terminally ill people a chance to alleviate their suffering' and quickly morphed into 'we're going to kill the poors to save a buck on welfare.'
I know for many on the Left, history began yesterday, but I'm old enough to remember 2020 and COVID and how the Left demanded the withholding of health care from people who didn't get vaccines or wear masks or otherwise blindly obey their COVID-related restrictions and mandates.
Any push for universal health care as a 'right' is also a push to let people like Taylor Lorenz decide to treat you like FEMA treated hurricane victims: unworthy of help because of your political views.
On top of that, we allegedly 'fixed' healthcare with the Affordable Care Act, colloquially known as Obamacare, which is neither affordable, nor a guarantee of care. As of September of last year, premiums had risen 249% since 2000. Obama himself also admitted his signature legislation was a stepping stone to universal health care.
As I said above -- the Left never lets a crisis go to waste. They don't see the murder of Brian Thompson for what it was: a crime. They see it as striking back against an eeeeevvvvvviiiiilllll corporation that they hate. Thompson deserved to die for his job.
But the same Leftists cheering on the cold-blooded murder of a man simply because they dislike the company he ran pinky swear if we just let them run all of healthcare, they'll fix it.
They totally won't discriminate based on age or disability or political beliefs.
Nope, not at all.
Just ignore the fact they're singing the praises of a man who killed a husband and a father on the streets of New York.
They won't ever do that to you.
