Yesterday, I (along with a few of my colleagues) told you about Israel's brilliant, target attack on Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon and elsewhere in the Middle East. Using pagers -- Hezbollah chose the outdated mode of communication because they feared advanced surveillance technology -- Israel remotely detonated the explosives, injuring and killing thousands of terrorists with minimal civilian casualties.
More devices went boom today, too, because Israel isn't playing around.
I also told you about Edward Snowden and Cenk Uygur complaining about this latest Israeli offensive.
But they're not alone. Many people on the Jew- and Israel-hating Left are livid that Israel have the audacity to defend themselves against the terror organizations that want to wipe it off the map.
This is not a “privacy breach”: injuring 2750+ people as they go about their daily lives is an unconscionable terrorist attack.

These are terrorists. Determined to carry out acts of terror against Israel and fellow Arabs by any means necessary.
Heidi makes it sound like these were 2750 people going for a casual stroll through Central Park.
Um. Can someone explain to me how causing hundreds of pagers to explode, regardless of where the people were at the time, and thus endangering the lives of thousands of civilians, is not a terrorist attack?
— Jessica Ellis (@baddestmamajama) September 17, 2024
Because it's not. It was a focused, successful campaign against a massive terror organization -- and that's not just Israel talking. The U.S. considers Hezbollah a terror organization.
But here's the rub in a follow-up post:
Um I also don’t think we should blow up a building full of civilians because we think there’s a terrorist inside. That’s pretty much a textbook definition of a war crime.

Do you see the double standard here?
Israel can't bomb buildings where terrorists are hiding. Nor can they target the devices those terrorists use to carry out crimes against Israelis and others.
It is a heads they win, tails you lose scenario. In short: the Left wants Israel to be steamrolled by terror organizations so AWFLs like Jessica or Heidi can feel morally superior.
Israel isn't going to heed the advice of gals Jessica or Heidi, thankfully, and they hardly need me to come to their defense. But I will defend Israel as vocally as I can from the keyboard of my MacBook because it's the right thing to do.
Israel has a right to defend itself. If Hamas, or Hezbollah, terrorists choose to hide their weapons and personnel in schools or hospitals, that's on them and on the people who allow it. People in Gaza voted to have Hamas represent them, after all, and you get the government you deserve.
Weird how Jessica and Heidi don't seem to have nearly as much criticism for the terrorists who use innocents as literal human shields.
If you don’t think hundreds of scumbag terrorists getting their nuts blown off simultaneously is absolutely hilarious, that’s definitely a “you” problem. https://t.co/fLkVKnWAoG

It is most definitely their problem.
Israel shows tremendous restraint in its operations, and -- unlike the terrorist groups -- works to minimize civilian casualties. Hamas and Hezbollah fire rockets indiscriminately into actual civilian areas with the sole purpose of killing as many men, women, and children as possible.
The use of exploding pagers is more evidence of restraint and Israel's desire to minimize civilian casualties while dealing fatal blows to terrorists. The explosions were isolated, targeted, and effective in crippling Hezbollah.
When Israel targeting the 1990s technology belonging only to known terrorist leaders and operatives is still deemed not careful enough, it’s possible you’re dealing with bad-faith critics you should ignore.

This is precisely correct. I guarantee you neither Jessica nor Heidi know anyone who uses a pager. It's an outdated tech that Hezbollah chose precisely because it hoped to avoid Israeli surveillance. That plan backfired.
Forgive the pun.
So, to the Lefties out there: you can't have it both ways. You can't demand Israel cease bombing buildings because that's too 'destructive' and then demand Israel not use targeted tactics because that's too 'reckless.' That's not how the world works, and -- more importantly -- that's not how war works.
This entire thing would end today if Hamas and Hezbollah -- and their backers in Iran and elsewhere -- stopped trying to wipe Israel off the map. If they put down their arms and walked away, not another pager would explode and nary a missile would take out a weapons cache in an elementary school.
But Hamas and Hezbollah chose to start and continue this war.
Israel is going to end it.
And they have every right to do so.
