There. I said it.
My intention for today's VIP piece was to talk about environmentalism and childlessness, but that'll have to wait for another day.
Why? Because this afternoon there was a second assassination attempt targeting Donald Trump, as I wrote about here and here (it's been a busy Sunday). This attempt was at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Any time there is a school/mass shooting or some random dog catcher in some podunk town in Oklahoma posts something offensive of Facebook, the Left demands universal condemnation from every Republican currently drawing breath.
There were recently some bomb threats made in Springfield, Ohio. You may have heard of that town; it's the place with 60,000 residents who saw the Biden-Harris administration drop 20,000 Haitian migrants into the community. Now city services like schools and hospitals are strained, residents don't feel safe, and chaos reigns supreme.

Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are directly responsible for those threats, according to the Left. Why? Because reasons.
Meanwhile, we have now seen two assassination attempts targeting Donald Trump. If not for a serendipitous turn of his head, Trump's life would've ended in Butler, PA on July 13. This time, Secret Service did their jobs and fired at the would-be assassin, who was later apprehended by local law enforcement.
You would think that the so-called defenders of democracy would take a step back and reevaluate their rhetoric after the first time someone tried to put a bullet in Donald Trump's brain. Alas, they did not. In the week following that first assassination attempt, Kamala Harris ran ads calling Trump an 'existential threat' to our freedoms. Joe Biden sent an email saying Trump would put people in camps. A former GOP comms director said women faced a choice in November: Donald Trump or our lives.'
So much for joy and norms and decency, huh?
If Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are to blame for bomb threats in Springfield, then Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Hakeem Jeffries are to blame for the two attempts on Donald Trump's life.
Here's Jeffries, thirty minutes after the news of the assassination attempt broke, further fueling the flames of rhetoric:
Extreme MAGA Republicans are the party of a national abortion ban and Trump’s Project 2025.
— Hakeem Jeffries (@RepJeffries) September 15, 2024
We must stop them.
As of the time I'm writing this, the above post is still up (I also grabbed a screenshot) and Jeffries has not posted anything about the assassination attempt on Trump.
It's clear at least two people -- the now-deceased shooter in Butler, PA and the Florida shooter -- took the Democratic Party's rhetoric to heart.
If Donald Trump is Hitler reincarnated, a man who will be dictator (according to Kamala Harris) that throws us into camps, and an existential threat to our freedoms, he must -- as Jeffries says above -- be stopped.
And the implication from the Democrats is clear here: you don't stop a wannabe dictator at the ballot box.
Which is why two separate people have tried to end Donald Trump's life, and we're still 50 days out from the election.
The only way to put this to an end is to vote for Donald Trump in November. To show the Democratic Party we see what they're saying, and doing, and we will not tolerate it.
