The Revolution Will Not Only Be Televised, Watching Will Be COMPULSORY

Yesterday, I took my son to see 'Twisters', the 2024 sequel to the 1996 natural disaster thriller 'Twister' starring Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton. 'Twister' is one of my favorite movies, and one I watch whenever it's on television. As summer natural disaster popcorn flicks go, it had a lot to offer: likable characters, a solid (albeit predictable) plot, good visual effects, and solid performances from leads Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell. The science and the premise require a suspension of disbelief but it's a movie. It's fiction.

The most refreshing thing -- for a weather-related movie in 2024 -- is the lack of a political agenda. A few little mentions of climate change, but nothing that hit you over the head like a mallet. After years of Disney and other studios pushing woke agendas in beloved intellectual properties (IPs) like 'Star Wars' and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having a movie you can enjoy for the sake of being a movie is what we need and what studios need to offer.

But not so fast. Back in May, I told you how the Associated Press was lamenting a lack of 'climate change' in mainstream movies. Now we know how they're going to do this.

Full confession: The Critical Drinker is one of my favorite YouTube channels. He's understands what makes movies work and has significant criticisms of the wokeness invading films. He calls that wokeness THE MESSAGE in his vidoes, and

He released a review about 'Twisters', imagine my surprise when this little note popped up on the video, within an hour of it being published. I was sent this screenshot and will indulge in sharing my own post:

Where does YouTube and the UN think they get this authority from? This is the first time I've ever seen such a notice on a YouTube video, so who was watching this video to flag it? Why this video? All Drinker says -- like I said -- is that it doesn't bow to 'THE MESSAGE'. That now warrants a flag?

The UN is not a scientific body. They do not have any authority on climate change or any other issue.

They are also rank hypocrites. This is the organization that ignores the plight of the Uyghurs in China, while putting China (and other monstrous nations) on the Human Rights Council. They believe Hamas' lies and defend terrorists while demonizing Jews. They are corrupt, dangerous, and deadly.

There is no evidence climate change is -- as the note claims -- driven by human activity. That's something the communists say, because environmentalism is not about the planet, but about power and control.

But the overarching message here is this: you cannot escape the agenda (or THE MESSAGE as Drinker calls it). Movies that don't explicitly integrate a woke message will get a note -- same thing with YouTube videos that don't toe the line on the Left's political agenda.

The Left wants politics to infiltrate every aspect of your life -- not just at the ballot box, but on television, in music, books, sports, art, and movies. During COVID, even going to the grocery store was a political act -- obey the arrows on the floor, wear a mask, socially distance.

From cradle to grave, they don't want you to be able to escape being inundated by politics.

For them, everything is political. And everything is seen through a political lens.

Which is why a silly movie about tornadoes -- seriously, the premise of the movie involves throwing polymers similar to what are in diapers into tornadoes to stop them -- must get a note on it from the UN about climate change.

Studios pushing the woke agenda see their movies struggle and flop. For example, 'Twisters' has a 76% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 7.1 on IMDb; it's already made $100-plus million at the box office on a budget of $115 million. The girl power 'Madam Web', on the other hand, has a 57% on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 4.0 on IMDb; it also had a budget of $80 million and only grossed $100 million worldwide.

Audiences want movies like 'Twisters'. They want to escape the endless barrage of political messaging that is in every other facet of life.

The Left has a different plan, one where their approved message is woven into the fabric of your existence, unless you cut them out and cut them off.
