DEI. It's racist. It's deadly. It's inherently fascist and discriminatory.
And now, hopefully, it's on its death bed.
NEW: Diversity programs vanishing from US campuses amid culture warshttps://t.co/7BOoPybRdA
— Insider Paper (@TheInsiderPaper) April 1, 2024
Last June, the country’s conservative-majority Supreme Court put an end to affirmative action in university admissions, reversing one of the major gains of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.
Now, Pace is urging his state to follow the lead of Florida and about a dozen other states that have scrapped campus DEI programs.
“The primary target group across the country… are Black people,” said Ricky Jones, professor of pan-African studies at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.
Carlie Reeves, 19, was the first person in her family to attend college and when she arrived at the University of Louisville, it was “very obvious that my professors didn’t really think I belonged. Didn’t really see me as intelligent.”
This is a much-needed, and much-welcomed shift.
All DEI has done is make people more divided, more racist, and more miserable.
Take, for example, the recent news that Tom Holland will be starring in a revival of Romeo & Juliet; his co-star is black actress Francesca Amewudah-Rivers. Casting a mixed-race Romeo & Juliet is not new, nor has it been controversial until the DEI era.
Now everyone thinks Amewudah-Rivers only got the part because of her skin color, instead of based on her talent (which, I confess, I don't know enough about to make a judgement).
I played Romeo with a white Juliet my sophomore year of college ~2001.

Orlando Bloom played Romeo to Condola Rashad's Juliet on Broadway in 2013.
But now a young actress with the break of a lifetime has to face racist mockery for a casting choice no one would've cared about 10… https://t.co/5WMb4ku93J
It's completely undermined every advancement of the last 60 years, and made race the forefront of every social issue.
Exactly. I said this before. I do not see the problem with this casting.

They made race everything, and now everything is seen through that prism. Very sad.
In the Insider Paper piece, that student felt like professors looked at her like she didn't belong even though DEI gave her 'merit'.
Whether in health care or college, DEI is rebranded Jim Crow -- the kind of racism the Left would absolutely lose their minds over if it wasn't done in their own name.
They have absurd diversity rules for Disney movies, and now the only thing Disney is hemorrhaging faster than cash is viewers.
DEI is institutionalized hatred, institutionalized self-loathing.
Even Harvard -- yes, Harvard -- is reconsidering DEI statements.
Wow! Randall Kennedy of Harvard Law School argues for abandoning DEI statements, calling them ideological pledges of allegiance.

He argues many academics feel an "intense and growing resentment against the DEI enterprise," and that DEI statements reveal the heart of the issue. pic.twitter.com/se9kdp6Kvr
They are ideological pledges of allegiance, and they're meant to foment resentment.
There's growing acknowledgement that asking academics to write statements signing on to any value-laden abstraction, let alone a bundled trio of them as poorly defined as DEI, is coercive and antithetical to free inquiry, intellectual diversity, and pluralism. https://t.co/v7I99PwOd0

Absolutely all of these. DEI is antithetical to any sort of independent thought, free speech, and education.
It is antithetical to freedom and personal growth.
You cannot thrive -- regardless of your race -- if you are placed into the 'victim' or 'oppressor' category from grade school. That raises up a generation of people who hate themselves, and who hate each other, and who cast aspersions on any accomplishment because either 'white privilege' or 'DEI' was the driving force behind it.
We are all better off when we focus on the content of character, and colorblindness, than color.
More states should pass legislation outlawing such blatant racism and discrimination.
DEI must D-I-E. Now.
