We Do Not Need a 'Minister of Loneliness'; We Need a Less Divisive, Less Controlling Government

At the end of January, ABC7 from the Bay Area, reported that San Mateo County Supervisor wants the state of California to create a 'minister of loneliness' position for the state, because loneliness is now a 'county-wide health emergency.'

More from ABC7:

With a unanimous vote by the Board of Supervisors, San Mateo County has become the first county in America to recognize loneliness as a public health emergency.

"We have 45% of the people who find themselves being lonely. Who suffer from loneliness," said Supervisor David Canepa.

Canepa introduced the resolution he hopes will spur further action.

He says since the pandemic, county statistics have shown loneliness explode among the local population.

A trend the country's surgeon general, says is also being seen nationwide.

I will place the blame, and rightly so, exactly where it belongs: on Democrats and their policies.

It is the Democrat party who tells people they don't need families: marriage is 'oppressive' and 'outdated', men are 'toxic' and the only 'husband' women need is their government sugar daddy.

And kids? No, don't have those. They will hold you back, ladies. Go to Planned Parenthood and have that abortion. Multiple times, if necessary, then go to work at a job in a cubicle, and come home to an empty apartment.

Make sure you get consent for every intimate interaction you have with another human being, ever. Otherwise, you're a rapist. And even if you get consent, we'll totally believe a woman if she changes her mind after the fact or the relationship goes south down the road.

If you're white, you're inherently racist, and your mere presence in public is harmful to minorities. If you're Black, Hispanic, or otherwise, you need to stay away from white people, because they hate you.

And COVID? Let's not forget COVID.

Stay away from your loved ones. For weeks, months, years. Ostracize your family if they don't get the vaccine. And don't forget to parrot our talking points at Thanksgiving (an oppressive holiday for colonizers you probably shouldn't celebrate anyway, bigot) and Christmas (a Christo-fascist holiday that you can't acknowledge in public, lest you hurt someone's feelings).

No one -- NO ONE -- has done more to make people lonely and isolated than the Democrat party.

And now, to 'solve' a crisis they created the solution is more government

How, exactly, does this work? Will we have mandated get-togethers? Government deciding who your friend group is? Monitoring how social you are? The article is thin on details: something about mental health, but that's it.

And, don't get us wrong, mental health is important. But the government can't get the food pyramid right, and they're going to tackle the mental health crisis.

Hoo boy. That'll go over like a lead balloon.

No, no they do not.

They think the solution to every problem is government. A six-figure government job that will spend more money than the government has (especially bankrupt California) while making the problem worse.

We should also get a Commissioner of Anger, a Czar of Joy, and an Envoy of Ennui. Just cover the entire spectrum to be safe.

I chuckled, because I've done enough crying these last couple of weeks.

'Harebrained' is too kind.

They're not going to say 'sike'; they're 100% serious.

My father died in April 2020 (no, not of COVID, but kidney failure). His 'funeral' was 8 of us at the funeral home, and then family scattered ten feet apart at the cemetery while some guy, terrified of the government, yelled at us to stay apart.

I got to stand, alone, by his casket and sob. My own children couldn't hug me.

That was loneliness.

And it was all because of the government. My Democrat governor, by the way.

I was fortunate, however. Dad was home and one home hospice, so he didn't die alone. Many other families were denied that very basic human need.

Honestly, it's like something out of communist Russia.

We don't need more ministers, more government jobs, more government mandates, programs, and spending.

What we need -- desperately -- is a government that gets out of our way. A government that doesn't pit groups against one another: Black vs. white, gay vs. straight, Democrat vs. Republican.

Democrats have done more to foment hatred and isolation and division than any other group in the history of this country, and we're a country that fought a civil war.

They want us divided because it gives them more power and control.

If you go out and talk to people, you'll find that most people are not racist, not homophobic, not bigoted. Most are just...people, trying to make ends meet. And that we have a lot more in common with a lot of people than differences. Yes, radicals exist across the spectrum. You'll get nutters of all kinds. But I meet and talk to a lot of people and the common ground is more vast than you would believe.

But most people can agree on most issues. When the Left/media/Democrats don't have us at one another's throats.

And, if you are lonely, reach out. That's the hardest step. But you will find more people willing to help you than not. We don't need some bureaucrat in Sacramento to tell us how to make friends and socialize.

The thought of us being united -- especially united against them -- terrifies them. Because once we realize our neighbor is not our enemy, their time in power is over.

We are only lonely because we've allowed the Democrats to divide and try to conquer us.

And only we can reunite ourselves.
