Senate Press Gallery staffer tells reporters to stop and watch the sunset

Far too many people in this world don’t take the time to stop and smell the roses, and we’re guessing that the Capitol Hill Press Corps is near the top of that list. Tonight, however, they were told to do so. Apparently, a Senate Press Gallery staffer used the Gallery’s public address system to alert camped-out reporters to a stunning sunset over the nation’s capital. We probably should all thank that person for a brief moment of serenity in the craziness surrounding the potential government “shutdown.”

NBC correspondent Luke Russert apparently heeded the call and took a nice photo.

Of course, some couldn’t resist the urge to snark.
